In the 18th session of "Where is China Going: The Party, State, and Global Order," we delve into the issues surrounding Hong Kong. Once known as the Pearl of the Orient and one of the Four Asian Tigers, Hong Kong boasted a vibrant civil society and an independent judiciary. However, recent years have seen an erosion of the city’s freedoms and civil society, with increasing alignment towards mainland practices. In this discussion, we are honored to have Anna Kwok and Alvin Y.H. Cheung join us to share their insights and experiences in the fight for democracy in Hong Kong.
