This week I got to speak with my good friend Eyeru about mental health. I had originally reached out to Eyeru asking if she would be willing to talk about self-care and she graciously said “I actually think I would have more to say about mental health. Let’s talk about that.” Which I love! It’s really just so generous. Mental health is such an important topic but I think I felt sort of hesitant to ask someone to talk about it so I just feel so grateful for her openness and excitement about talking about it.
In our conversation, Eyeru discusses her journey with her own mental health: getting a diagnosis, finding community, going on and off medication, etc. She also gives such great advice for people experiencing challenges with their mental health and for people who have loved ones in their life experiencing poor mental health. Eyeru is just the best, and I learned so much from her. I felt honored to hear her story; it’s beautiful to hear her talk about it. I hope anyone listening can feel encouraged by Eyeru's story or at least feel less alone.
