Born and raised in Statesville in the 1970s, Charles initially pursued a career in medicine and graduated with a background in the field. After moving to Kiser Island, Charles opened a pharmacy in downtown Mooresville and was doing quite well for himself, but he discovered there was more than one way to measure success. However, he found his true passion lay with dogs.
