(2:36) Lesson Number One. Making lots of money with no time really isn't worth it. When you don't have any money you're like, hey? Whatever. I'm willing to work crazy long hours to make money. But once you get off of that kind of hamster wheel and you really start to generate some income you realize that actually, on second thought, I would not sell my soul for all of this money, because it's just not worth it.
(5:33) Most people want the flexibility to do the things that you personally want to do without your money making thing getting in the way of that.
(7:09) Parkinson's Law: Work expands to fit the time allowed.
(9:53) Lesson Number Two. Investing is well worth it. This year alone I invested around $25,000 in myself. And I think my level of investment matches the level of income I brought in this year. There's nothing like investing in yourself knowing you're going to get a return on your investment (because you're willing to take responsibility for your growth).
(14:08) If you're going to join a mastermind then make friends with the other people inside the group. Go first. Why else would you join a mastermind and then still continue to silo yourself?
(15:54) Lesson Number Three. Staying true to your principles pays off exponentially which allowed me to have one of the best years I've had in business.
(19:33) You can't buy class and you can't buy character. Those are only earned through the trial by fire moments that come up. A principle isn't a principle unless it costs you. And if you have a string of these experiences happening and you come out the other side okay multiple times over the years then you feel bulletproof.
(21:13) Lesson Number Four: Money without health isn't worth it. I let my physical health slide this year more than any other year.
(22:33) Lesson Number Five: You have more valuable skills than you realize. I worked closely to help launch a new high ticket brand from zero to $1M in 7 months.
(26:05) The experiences you've had have compounded over the years and are attractive as hell to the right person that values your unique sense of communicating in the world.
