The hymn composers were obviously given to lifestyles embedded in and narrowly focused on God’s matchless superiority and his intent and interaction with humankind. The number of compositions alone in this hymnal indicated their commitment and time investment to proclaim the glory of God. One of the writers in the hymnal was Charles Wesley, who is attributed to penning over 6,000 songs with some historians estimating upward to 8,000.
