We are here today with another episode of Son and Pops Sports. There is so much going on in various sports arenas, and today we want to dive right in and talk about what's been happening in the last week in the NFL, NBA, and more.
Unfortunately, it was another lackluster week in the preseason of the NFL, and the top two quarterbacks don’t look good, nor dotheir stats. Of note, Anthony Richardson, quarterback for the Colts, didn’t impress this week and he was praised on an incomplete pass which just seemed bizarre. Titans quarterback Will Levis wasn’t great, but not awful. If you were hoping for more excitement in the NFL, there’s always next week.
Another personal gripe this week in sports is that the NBA seems to have a problem with Trae Young. The point guard for the Atlanta Hawks isn’t on the all-star team, which Trae has personally addressed, saying he would like to play. He’s the best young player in the league and the NBA loses cool points for not having him on that team.
James Harden is looking for a better deal instead of returning to training camp which, at his age and what they are offering him,is probably not a wise choice. Nobody is knocking on his door to offer him more money, but it’s understandable that he would want a contract that would allow him more security.
While it has been a bit of a subpar week in sports, it’s still exciting to see what is to come next week. There’s always potential for these players to bring their best in weeks to come.
