988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

In honor of National Suicide Prevention Week, I sit down with Mr. Sean Dunn, founder of GroundWire, a faith-based outreach transforming the way we connect with young people battling depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. With suicide now a leading cause of death among children and veterans, Mr. Dunn shares how GroundWire uses short-form media, real-time chat lines, and emotional outreach to meet people where they are—on their phones. We talk about how cultural mistrust in institutions, short attention spans, and the mental health crisis all intersect in one place: the screen.
Mr. Dunn and I dig into the alarming statistics behind unhappiness and lost purpose in youth today, especially since the rise of social media and the pandemic.
