As much as we're crying out for rest, I think we're clamoring even more for healing. Too often, I've found we're searching for healing from wounds caused by the one place we're supposed find wholeness: The Church.
Of the 26 different stories of healing from Jesus that appear 48 times across the four gospels, it's hard to find a single one where Jesus isn't responding to a person's physical and emotional pain (that emotional pain almost always coming from the way people have been treated by their neighbors because of their wounds).
We need to talk about the thing Jesus does more than anything else: healing.
For me, it all starts with what Peter and John do in Acts 3 when faced with a situation almost identical to one Jesus experienced. Join me as we sift through Jesus' healing efforts to figure out how to heal our own wounds (and those of our neigbors).
