Welcome to the first episode of "You've Never Read This," a new series from God Knows Where looking at stories in our scriptures that fall through the cracks. We're starting off with a question Jesus answers that explains why he teaches with parables. Jesus uses parables all the time, but we never pay attention to why. Let's change that!
In this series, we'll be looking at a dozen or so stories that never show up in the Revised Common Lectionary used by many mainline Protestant Churches, including the one I used to pastor. Join us as we try to figure why we avoid or ignore these stories and the (surprising) wisdom they have for us.
