We’re turning back to the gospels today to a story I have absolutely no idea why we don't read in Church. The Gospel of John in particular for a little conversation between Jesus and his disciples with profound meaning for how we navigate the seasons of life. It’s going to be a bit shorter than normal (I don’t hear you complaining about that…), and there’s a reason.

You've Never Read This," is a new series from God Knows Where looking at stories in our scriptures that fall through the cracks. In this series, we're looking at a dozen or so stories that never show up in the Revised Common Lectionary used by many mainline Protestant Churches, including the one I used to pastor. Join us as we try to figure why we avoid or ignore these stories and the (surprising) wisdom they have for us.
