Isaiah 9:6-7
For to Us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
Zephaniah 3:16-20
On that day they will say to Jerusalem, “Do not fear, Zion; do not let your hands hang limp.
The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” “I will remove from you all who mourn over the loss of your appointed festivals, which is a burden and reproach for you.At that time I will deal with all who oppressed you. I will rescue the lame; I will gather the exiles. I will give them praise and honor in every land where they have suffered shame. At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes,” says the Lord.
Inhale: I’ve been minimizing what you’ve done, Jesus.
Exhale: THANK YOU. Thank you for coming so that I can find home in you. Help me understand the magnitude of what you’ve done.
Inhale: I’ve been searching this Christmas season for something more.
Exhale: Jesus, thank you for all that you are - for coming to our home long ago to restore our relationship, and thank you that you will one day come again to gather us and bring us home for good! Release the lies that hold me down, and give me freedom to celebrate what you’ve done!
