Kate is a wife and mom who wears many hats including being a Social Service Director in two long-term care facilities in her town, with a caseload of 110 residents. But one of her most inspiring roles, which she recently retired from with over a decade of experience, was as a house parent. At the boarding school, she and her husband raised 12 teenage girls for 8 years and then 8 elementary boys for their last 2 years while ALSO raising their own two biological girls. Talk about EXPERIENCE as a parent!
In this episode we will talk all about parenthood, the highs, and lows, how to manage our feelings through all the seasons of childhood development and ways to discipline our children in a positive way so that they learn actions have consequences but in a way that allows us as the adults to check in with ourselves to manage OUR feelings in the moment, too.
