These chapters confirm the destruction of Jerusalem and Judah. We see how God was faithful to His people from the Exodus into the promised land. The Lord says He will be King over Israel. Many times it is explained that the reason for the destruction was due to their unfaithfulness to the covenant with the Lord. The last object lesson was Ezekiel's wife died, and he was not allowed to mourn, and this showed the Israelites that they should not mourn when Jerusalem is destroyed and the temple torn down, because they deserve this punishment.
