In these last chapters of Isaiah, we see a picture of the New Jerusalem which has no need for a sun or moon because the Lord is the Light! We see that this Kingdom is for all the faithful, and judgment is coming for those who are not. We learn that Jesus says He fulfills Isaiah chapter 61 because He is the Lord's Anointed. He brought good news to the afflicted. He came to bind up the brokenhearted. He proclaimed liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners. He proclaimed the favorable year of the Lord, and He is coming again as a groom for His bride.
