Description

In these last 3 chapters of Matthew we read of the Passover meal, the betrayal of Judas, the arrest and trial of Jesus, the scattering of the disciples, the denial of Peter, Jesus standing before Pilate, the beating and crucifixion of Jesus, the burial of Jesus by Joseph of Arimathea, and the women watching from afar. Yet, we also see the resurrection of Jesus, the appearance of Jesus to the women, and then to the disciples in Galilee, and it ends with "The Great Commission." "All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age. Amen!" It ends with a command and a promise.
