These Psalms are located in the first Book of Psalms, "The King's Confidence in God's Care," which W. Robert Godfrey labels in his book, Learning to Love the Psalms. These Psalms are mainly written by King David, and they are Psalms of Praise, Imprecatory, Lament, Confidence, and Celebration. Some are personal songs and others are for the congregation. Over all, it shows that there is coming an eternal kingdom with the eternal King, and that King, the Son of David, and the Son of Man, is Jesus. Psalm 8 especially is mentioned in the New Testament with reference to Jesus, and those passages are Matthew 21:16, Hebrews 2:6-8, and 1 Corinthians 15:27.
