As children, our parents tell us to “be careful.” We are taught that the world is dangerous; as a result, we become afraid, protect ourselves, disengage, and ignore possibilities. And yet, human beings are very evolutionarily successful. Thousands of years of innovations mean that our world today looks very different from our earliest ancestors.
The only way this can be possible is that curiosity, which leads to imagination and creativity, is an inherent trait that rivals the strength of fear. Fear becomes amplified when you don’t have a bigger vision for your life. The self-doubting, stay-in-your-comfort-zone kind of fear paralyzes the progress you can make during your life. However, when you have that vision, fear takes its place as the catalyst of your awareness, but it no longer stops you from moving forward.
