Description

Asthma is a common respiratory condition that can affect individuals of all ages, including children. Childhood asthma can be a source of concern for parents and caregivers, but with proper understanding and management, children with asthma can lead healthy and active lives. In this week's episode of Weekly Dose with Dr.Ude, we will explore the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and management of asthma in childhood.

Dr. Shade Farri has been providing care for underserved communities in the tri-state area for a decade. Dr. Farri has developed and led multiple community-hospital partnership programs to improve health outcomes for children with chronic diseases. She recently led a clinically integrated school asthma program that resulted in decreased hospitalizations and fewer missed school days in an inner-city community. She obtained her medical degree from Nigeria, completed her pediatric residency training at an Albert Einstein College affiliate; and her fellowship training in pediatric pulmonology at New York Medical College. She holds an MPH from Columbia University.
