In Esther 6, we witness a pivotal moment in the story of Esther. Haman, who had plotted to exterminate the Jewish people, experiences a reversal of fortune. King Ahasuerus, unable to sleep, orders the royal records to be read to him, and he learns of Mordecai's previous act of loyalty, which had gone unrewarded. Just as Haman enters the king's court to request permission to hang Mordecai, the king decides to honor Mordecai instead, leading to Haman's humiliation.

Esther 7 continues the story as Queen Esther reveals Haman's evil plot to King Ahasuerus during a banquet. The king, in a fit of anger, orders Haman to be hanged on the very gallows he had prepared for Mordecai. This chapter marks a turning point in the narrative as Haman's threat to the Jewish people is eliminated.

Esther 8 records the reversal of Haman's decree to annihilate the Jews. King Ahasuerus allows Queen Esther and Mordecai to issue a counter-decree, permitting the Jews to defend themselves against their enemies. This decree brings relief to the Jewish people, and they are granted the means to protect themselves from those who seek to harm them.

In Esther 9, the Jews successfully defend themselves against their enemies, and the tables are turned. The enemies of the Jews are defeated and killed. To commemorate their deliverance, Mordecai establishes the Feast of Purim, a time of celebration, feasting, and the giving of gifts to the poor. Purim has become a significant Jewish holiday that remembers the story of Esther and the salvation of the Jewish people.

Esther 10 concludes the book by highlighting Mordecai's prominence and influence in the Persian Empire, emphasizing his role in the reversal of fortune for the Jewish people. The book of Esther serves as a testament to divine providence, courage, and the ultimate triumph of good over evil.

These chapters in the book of Esther depict the downfall of Haman, the deliverance of the Jewish people, and the establishment of the Feast of Purim as a celebration of God's protection and salvation.
