In Genesis 22, God tests Abraham's faith by asking him to sacrifice his son Isaac as a burnt offering. Abraham willingly agrees to do so, but at the last moment, an angel of the Lord stops him and provides a ram to sacrifice instead. As a result of Abraham's faith, God promises to bless him and his descendants. In Genesis 23, Sarah, Abraham's wife, dies and is buried in a cave in the land of Canaan. And Genesis 24 Abraham sends his servant to find a wife for his son Isaac, and he finds Rebekah, who becomes Isaac's wife.
