Today we look at Genesis 25 and 26. We look at the birth of Isaac's twin sons, Esau and Jacob, and of how Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of stew.
Isaac, who, like his father Abraham, goes to Gerar in the land of the Philistines to escape a famine. There, he poses as Sarah's brother to protect her from being taken by the local ruler. God blesses Isaac with a bountiful harvest, but Isaac's livestock and servants cause conflict with the Philistines. Eventually, Isaac moves to a new location and digs several wells, but the Philistines claim the wells as their own. Isaac eventually makes a treaty with them and moves on to a new place.
