In the Book of Job, Chapter 6 finds Job continuing to express his frustration and despair over his suffering. He wishes that God would grant him a swift death and accuses God of treating him unfairly. In Chapter 7, Job reflects on the fleeting nature of life and the constant toil and struggle of humans. In Chapter 8, Job's friend Bildad responds to Job's accusations, insisting that God is just and that Job's suffering must be due to his own sin. In Chapter 9, Job asserts that he is innocent and that God is too powerful and mysterious for humans to understand. He accuses his friends of failing to help him in his time of need.
