This week on The Joy of Cruising Podcast, I am delighted to welcome Steve Kriese, creator of DCL Podcast, a podcast that covers all things Disney Cruise Lines, related Disney events and properties, and a smattering of general cruise matters.Yours truly benefittedfrom DCL Podcast’s coverage of general cruising; Steve invited me to my first-ever podcast as a guest after I published my first cruising book, The Joy of Cruising. So, we have a connection. We are further connected by the fact that DCL Podcast was featuredin my second cruising book, Cruising Interrupted, in a section called The Cruise Communicators.
Besides being a really nice guy, there are two other fascinating aspects about Steve. Steve is one of the most unique content creators in cruising. When not podcasting—or cruising worldwide—Steve is an airline pilot. Of course, there are likely other pilots that have podcasts, blogs, or vlogs but I don’t know of any in cruising. As a 737 Captain for Alaska Airlines, Steve gets to see the world. As host of DCL Podcast, Steve and guests talk about seeing the world from the perspective of a Disney Cruise. The other fascinating aspect of Steve is that on a cruise in the Mediterranean, he was part of coverage in the media for almost ruining George Clooney’s wedding! That probably really sounds random, so I’ll let Steve explain.
