What we not fuxing with today is blocking blessings and we are going to let Ms. Jada tell us how its done. Jada has not paid me a dime, but if you have not yet picked up the book Worthy, go and get it…right.the fux. Now! Jada is the avatar for Uppity Black Women #ubw. And we all owe her an apology, especially Hoda Kotb. I love me some Hoda, but the interview related to marketing the book made us all focus on her relationship with Will. Now I’m about 1/3 through this 400 page book, and Will’s role in Jada’s life at this juncture is pretty insignificant. But what is not insignificant, is the life that Jada has lived. Jada’s trajectory was already preordained, all she needed was peace of mind to hear the message so she could project into the stratosphere. Even with all the obstacles in her path, including having a functioning heroine addict mother (I did not know that that was possible, but if anyone can be a functioning heroine addict, it's an Uppity Black Woman) and surviving her foray into become a drug Queenpin. It was the ownership of her story, her authenticity, her ability to turn her mess into message because she listened to her intuition - that changed everything for her.
Her story has me thinking about our own personal stratospheres and how we get in our own way because we do not listen to ourselves - either because we don’t know how or because we are scared to. Listening to ourselves, and basing our decisions on internal guidance allows us to level up in ways unimaginable. The more we ignore our intuition, understand that there are people in this world who will never be who they are supposed to be because you are not doing what you are supposed to do. So Sis, what will it be? What quantum leap can you take today? Run, don’t walk, your stratosphere awaits!
