John and his partners and I used to own $77M in assets ( 429 doors ) Then lost it all in 2009. I went from $77M in assets to $5M in debt in about 9 months. I can talk lightly about this, but I don't like getting into the details. There are a gazillion lessons from that experience, that I carry with me every day. I'd rather talk about what I learned. (Hyper-Conservative Underwriting, Cash Only transactions, Cash Flow is better than Cash).
