Before the likes of Halloween and Friday the 13th made the Slasher genre famous, we had what is known in the industry as "Proto-Slashers": the sub genre that paved the way for the a gory few decades.
We go right back to the start with Peeping Tom, widely regarded as the first slasher film. Sadly, the end of Michael Powell's career, but what it kicked off and it's influence on films to come cannot be understated.
Following up with Psycho, arguably Alfred Hitchcock's best work, we take a look at the film that spawned a thousand spoofs - from the shower scene, to the (spoilers) final reveal of the killer's identity.
Both influential, both timeless classics, let's discuss the films that made horror what it is today.
