Isn't it funny (strange, not the "haha" kind) how we'll treat or talk to strangers better than we will our own family or those that are closest to us? Even funnier that we will do this better than we will treat or talk to ourselves. When we miss the mark in any way, the enemy is quick to bring guilt and/or shame to stifle us and keep us down. The Bible tells us that whatever is in the heart comes out of the mouth, so it's no wonder if we are talking poorly to ourselves in our thought life, that we may also talk poorly to loved ones. The age-old saying "hurt people hurt people" couldn't be truer. We all do this. So how do we begin to fix this?
