In this week's episode, I am speaking to Sammie Searle about the initiative "This Girl Can." We discuss what "This Girl Can" is all about and how it encourages women to be more active and confident in their fitness journey. Sammie shares the importance of providing a safe and inclusive environment for participants and the benefits of dancing for adults and children.
About Sammie:
Sammie Searle is the founder of the successful Entertainment Company, Boogie Tots®. She has worked within the entertainment industry for over 26 years, both in the UK and internationally and now promotes This Girl Can.
This Girl Can is a national campaign running across all sports including swimming and dance. It promotes enjoyable and accessible exercise for those that don't necessarily enjoy it, or feel like they don't fit in, or have taken a break from exercise. Sammie runs classes designed to encourage women into fitness by offering a taster of different exercise styles - yoga inspired stretch, dance, box fitness, tone (sit ups, core exercises) and Move (our version of HIIT). Once they have finished the course and discovered what they like, women go on to participate in full box fitness or Zumba class full of confidence in what they can do.
Sammie believes in promoting activity from an early age and has used her extensive experience in the entertainment industry to create Boogie Tots®. This initiative aims to build confidence in children through dance and music, and has been taking place in schools, nurseries and in the community for the past 15 years. In 20/21 Boogie Tots was voted Children’s Dance Club of the Year and in 23/24 was voted the Children's Entertainment Company of the Year, in both the London and South East prestige awards. As an expert in kids' entertainment, she is now franchising Boogie Tots® to give people like her the opportunity to run their own businesses around their families.
