Jesus often compared Himself and His Father to shepherds. He used this imagery when He wanted to describe how God cares for His children. He made it clear that God deals with us with compassion, concern, and care as a shepherd would to his sheep. The tougher comparison is that of you and I, as Christ-followers, being compared to sheep. Sheep have a lot of unsavory characteristics. They are stubborn, stupid, vulnerable, filthy, and easily influenced, just to name a few. Does that sound like anybody you know? Maybe we are more like sheep than we want to admit. Bottom line is that we are all in need of a GOOD SHEPHERD! Be here this weekend and meet Him for the first time or get to know Him again.
