In this episode, host Shelby Bundy discusses the five rivers of the Underworld. Where the modern version of "hell" is imagined as fire and brimstone, the ancient Greeks saw an Underworld that was built around flowing rivers, each with a purpose and life. From meeting the ferryman at the Acheron to being faced with our broken oaths at the Styx, this episode considers the ways in which the waters of Hades held and transported the souls of the dead.
