Description

Welcome back to Sonderland. I am your host, Luis Carrillo; and today’s episode is not part of a bigger chapter as normal; it is not part of a revival of Sonderland; it is a standalone episode, a conversation that I, in my heart of hearts, believe needed to be held. I am not a political activist, nor do I care much for politics; but just because Charlie Kirk was a political activist, does not make this exclusively a political assassination. This was an attack on freedom, the freedom to express oneself, the freedom to believe what one believes, and the freedom to not conform to the world, but be transformed by the renewal of our minds. I did not know Charlie Kirk, nor did I agree with everything he said, but we did agree on who God is, the direction this world is heading, and how in the face of adversity, one must speak more clearly, hold fast to one’s faith, more boldly, and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ fervently.

Today, you will not hear a conversation between two Christians; you will hear a conversation between a Christian and an agnostic man, whom I deeply admire, respect, and even love. You will hear honesty, whether you believe it to be true, agree, or even enjoy. Richard is a man who has been on this podcast once before, and if Sonderland were to exist until my dying breath, many times after; no matter the distance, time, or energy it requires. You will hear two men, who so deeply desire to see our cities, country, and world heal and come together. From two different voices, you will hear pain, sorrow, anger, over not just what happened one week ago today, but what has been happening, day in and day out, before not just our eyes, but yours as well.
