Welcome back to Raw Intentions. This week I decided to take a solo episode and talk about something that so many of us struggle with. Our ever changing bodies, falling in and out of love with ourselves, and toxic relationships with food and exercise. I have struggled, mostly silently, with this for as long as I can remember. I’ve done every fad diet, created awful habits with food and workouts, starved myself only to binge drink and eat almost every weekend, juice cleansed on the regular- you name it, I’ve tried it. I’ve been to therapy for my disordered thoughts and obsessive nature, and have learned a LOT over the years from these various struggles. Not a fun thing to talk about, but i really wanted to share this with y’all; both for myself and for anyone else that has ever silently battled with food. Food is meant to nourish us, allow us to live our lives and be enjoyed, not be the source of anxiety and obsession and hate and guilt. I’ve slowly unlearned so much that I’ve taught myself though the pressures of being a girl in today’s world. So if you’ve ever had similar negative experiences with any of the above, I hope this episode makes you feel seen, heard, and less alone.
