Hey there, it's Brenda Meller with Meller Marketing. I'm the Chief Engagement Officer at Meller Marketing, where I help business professionals get a bigger slice of the LinkedIn pie. I am super excited because this is the very first episode of my very first podcast called Enthusiastically Self-Employed.
And if you're listening to this, that means you found me, and I'm super excited about that. I'm curious where you found me from. Maybe we're already connected on LinkedIn. Perhaps you're a part of my V I P email list community. Maybe somebody shared the podcast with you. At any rate, I am delighted that you're here and I want to talk in this episode a little bit about what this podcast will be all about and hopefully will inspire you to click on that, subscribe or follow button, and listen in to my future shows.
So first of all, the show is called Enthusiastically Self-Employed, and if you've seen me present, if you've seen me either live in person or on a webinar or virtual event, you know that I bring the enthusiasm to you, right? And I even, you know, sometimes when I'm sharing photos on LinkedIn and on social media, I have these very enthusiastic, over the top expressions that you'll see.
And I love to be a little bit different in my approach. But I want you to know this is really going to be a useful podcast to listen to if you are self-employed and specifically you might be a coach, a consultant, a speaker or an author, you might work in a different category than those mentioned, but you're looking for some insights to help you in your business.
And that's what this podcast is designed for. I'm going to be featuring a variety of topics, really centered around business, marketing, and LinkedIn tips to help you with your coaching business, your consulting business, with your speaking business, or maybe doing some book marketing as well. And I intentionally chose those four categories, my friend, because those are similar to the categories that I'm doing for my business. I do LinkedIn coaching. I've also done LinkedIn consulting and marketing consulting. I am a national speaker as well as a virtual speaker. It's something I really enjoy doing and kind of breaking out of my introvert shell in, in realizing I love to be on stages and in front of virtual audiences as well.
And I've published my first book, it's called Social Media Pie, how to Enjoy a Bigger Slice of LinkedIn. . Now, a little bit of my backstory. I actually come from a corporate marketing background. So for over 20 years I've been working in a variety of industries with a variety of organizations for-profit, non-for-profit, fortune 500 s, smaller organizations, agencies, marketing services, organizations, as well before starting my own.
So now what I do when I work with clients is I'm always thinking I can't ever take off my marketer's hat, right? So I'm always thinking from the perspective of a marketer, and that is, I want to know who is the ideal target audience? Who are those people that we are speaking with? When we're, when we're launching our, our messages out there, when we're publishing newsletters or videos or different types of things, I'm always thinking of who is our intended target.
I am also thinking about what are our business or professional goals. So we want to make sure that we're lining those things up, our audience as well as our goals. And then there's al
