Chief Doan started his career with the Boise Fire Department in 1991 as an entry level Firefighter and was an original member of the Hazardous Materials Team. Dennis continued his service in the Operations Division as he advanced to the rank of Senior Firefighter in 1995 and then promoted to Captain in 2002. He was awarded Boise City Firefighter of the Year in 2003 for his work as a lobbyist for Idaho firefighters and received the American Red Cross 2004 Real Hero Award.
