Description

We create habits because our brain has evolved to conserve energy so doing things without having to think about them has great benefits when that conserved energy can be used to run from a Sabre Toothed Tiger or we had to forage for food. Even now it is useful because imagine how exhausting it would be if you had to think about driving your car or brushing your teeth like you did when you first did it. You would be exhausted and wouldn't have any room to learn anything else.

The problem is though, is that anything that is pleasurable, the brain perceives as being vital for survival, and with so many false pleasure in our world today we are creating habits that are detrimental to our survival as opposed to promoting it.

You see, we were designed for a world or scarcity and our brain has not yet evolved to the world of plenty that we are now in.

When you know how to identify harmful habits and have the skills to change them you will live a healthier, more fulfilled life.
