When I was at the point when I hated the police and I wanted out I was given some advice that has stuck with me and that was; "LOVE IT BEFORE YOU LEAVE IT."
I didn't think this was possible but it turned out it was. Sometimes it was a real challenge and I often thought that I could never beat my environment but this was not true. I stayed in the job and worked on those areas that frustrated me or caused me anxiety.
Suddenly the job became this tool to squeeze out my fears. The challenges I faced became opportunities and facing these opportunities and working on my attitude helped me to become more resilient and increased my self-confidence.
Will I stay int he police until the end? Not likely but I no longer think of leaving because I hate the job and want to escape, it's because there is another chapter of my life that needs to be written.
Don't ever think that I am saying that you have to stay in the job. That's not what I'm saying. All I want for you is that you don't keep finding the same problems int he new job. I don't want you to look back with regret knowing that you could have made the changes to yourself before you made the decision to leave.
Have a listen
