Description

Our brains are always predicting the future. The bummer is that often that prediction is negative because we are negative biased. Why? Because having that negative bias is what helped us survive in our primitive days.

We end up taking action from this negative prediction and make that prediction a reality which makes us believe these future predictions.

When you have a negative outlook on some future event and you are sure that it is the only way that it is going to work out, try asking yourself this one question, "What if the opposite were true?"

This one question can give you a very different perspective because you are not asking your brain to believe the opposite, but just to consider it.

This is important because our thoughts create our feelings, our feelings drive our actions and our actions create our reality. If we only consider the worst then we are likely to make that turn into a reality but  just considering the opposite can change how we feel, which drives different action, which in turn gives us a different reality.
