Welcome to Rock & Roll Flashback! I'm Jumpin' John, and today's podcast will review the career of one of the pioneers of rock and roll music: Chuck Berry!
Charles Edward Anderson Berry was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1926. Despite a lifetime filled with legal problems and periodic jail time, he became one of the most influential, groundbreaking musicians of early rock and roll. Called by some "The Father of Rock and Roll", in 1986 Chuck Berry would be among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
All podcasts on the Rock and Roll Flashback Podcast are produced by brothers-in-law Bill Price and "Jumpin' John" McDermott. The Podcast Theme Song, "You Essay", was written by John. It was initially recorded by Bill and John on April 1, 2004 with several revisions since then.
