Welcome to Rock & Roll Flashback! I'm Jumpin' John McDermott, and this episode is about the iconic and influential British Invasion band: The Yardbirds! Amazingly, The Yardbirds started the careers of not one, not two, but three of rock's greatest guitarists: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. All three guitarists ranked in the top five of Rolling Stone magazine's list of 100 greatest guitarists. The band had a string of hits throughout the mid-1960s, including "For Your Love", "Heart Full of Soul", "Shapes of Things", and "Over Under Sideways Down".
All podcasts on the Rock and Roll Flashback Podcast are produced by brothers-in-law Bill Price and "Jumpin' John" McDermott. The Podcast Theme Song, "You Essay", was written by John. It was initially recorded by Bill and John on April 1, 2004 with several revisions since then.
