Have you ever walked out of a movie theatre and thought to yourself "that was awesome!" Only to open your favorite social media app and see that the movie is getting blasted online. You think to yourself, "who cares, I liked it. I like what they did". One month later the team that poured time and effort into the project decided to walk away from future projects due to "fan backlash". We lost another one. This scenario is becoming all too common in this post-quarantine era where your average movie-goer turned superhero movie critic now has the ability to influence beyond their inner circle. Award-winning actors and directors are now receiving all-time lows on their dazzling resumes and Marvel/DC movie stars are now becoming more and more scarce. The current cinematic space for the superhero genre is playing in the gray but with each passing movie the light that once shined so brightly (see Marvel Studio's Infinity War and Endgame) is fading with expectations universally unmet. Here we are talking THE FUTURE OF THE SUPERHERO CINEMATIC GENRE.
