Description

Jonny Tucker is a coach within the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, with his official title as the Minor League Hitting Coordinator. Coach Tucker oversees all levels in the minor leagues to make sure everyone is on the same page in the organization. He brings a unique perspective to The Pitcher's Shop because he explains things through the eyes of a hitter, not a pitcher. Jonny Tucker was a standout athlete at De La Salle High School in Concord, CA, and went on to play in the SEC at the University of Florida. He was taken in the 20th round of the 2004 draft and went on to play for 12 years in the Orioles and Nationals organizations. He brings a wealth of experience, both as a player and a coach. He joined the Pirates organization in 2019, starting at the Rookie ball level. His work ethic and understanding of the game helped elevate him from level to level and landing him in the important role of Minor League Hitting Coordinator.
