Description

GCDD’s Executive Director D’Arcy Robb is back on PinPoint. Her voice is one our listeners will hear often. This episode, she cover sa few different topics, some of which you may already have read in our newsletter or magazine. She talks about the new Council Chair, Lisa Newbern, and the previous Chair, Nick Perry, who is now the Vice Chair. She tells stories about these two great people and why they’re so qualified to hold their positions. We also reflected on the 2023 legislative session and discussed next steps as we move into what she calls the home season.

The Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD) is driven by its Five Year Plan (2017-2021) goals of education; employment; self-advocacy; Real Communities; and formal and informal supports. The Council, charged with creating systems change for individuals with developmental disabilities and family members, will work through various advocacy and capacity building activities to build a more interdependent, self-sufficient, and integrated and included disability community across Georgia.
