What exactly is natural wine?
Does natural wine mean no chemicals or additives whatsoever? Or does it mean they can be added in certain amounts? Are natural wines always “funky?” Are they the same as organic wines? And what are the rules surrounding natural wine and being able to say that this is indeed a natural wine?
Today, I’m chatting with Seattle, Washington based natural wine shop owner Molly Ringe of Molly’s Bottle Shop. Molly started her career in the conventional wine world but after a cancer diagnosis at the age of 30, found herself learning about the enchanting world of natural wine.
As a natural wine expert, Molly digs into questions like what’s the difference between natural wine, regular wine, and biodynamic wine? How many chemicals are in regular wine and are they really necessary?
Molly also talks about our ethical obligations and the importance of no longer supporting unethical practices in the wine industry that go beyond just what chemicals are in our wine.
I learned so much from this episode and I’ll definitely be asking more questions about the wine that I drink!
