Description

Joining me on the second Episode of the Honesty Policy Hour is the lovely Katherine Tsagaris.

Kat is a highly respected and decorated educator, having won Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2014 and Victoria’s Inspiration Medal in the same year. With a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Instructional Leadership (UoM) and a ton of trauma informed training under her belt.

Katherine has taught in London, Finland, the US, Melbourne (including almost a decade in Victoria's only school within the juvenile justice system), and Byron Bay. She has explored all facets of education! She has been a passionate tutor, teacher, teacher coach, campus principal and senior director, with specialties in trauma informed education, positive student-teacher relationships, and culturally responsive curriculum. In 2020 she chose to leave the 4 walls of the boardroom and explore the learning happening in broader spaces.

Today she delivers one on one teacher coaching and support, provides consulting for schools, delivers speaking at events, supports homeschooling for families leaving the education system, and both supports and facilitates workshop spaces at retreats that have focused on personal growth, rites of passage for teens, as well as the monumentally important relationship between mothers and their daughters.

In this Episode we unpack the messy life experiences we have been through and
how our teenage years have shaped us.

Kat also touches on how she has witnessed her teenage students in the school environment and how hormonal shifts impact their behaviors.
