Tom met with Anita Pointer of 3-time Grammy Award winners, The Pointer Sisters, whose array of genres covered in their discography is too diverse to even begin to list. They were the first black female group to ever win a Grammy Award for a country song and the first to ever play the Grand Ole Opry. She spoke to Tom in this heartfelt interview about the record company refusing to release ‘So Excited’, the thrill of Elvis recording one of her songs, and why black lives matter. It should be noted for correct context that this conversation was recorded before the recent events in Minneapolis and the worldwide anti-racism protests that followed.
