Tony Shaw joins me talking about his football career and what it took to be an inspirational leader and premiership captain.

Tony was a club best and fairest Copeland Trophy winner, Premiership Captain in 1990 and won the best on ground Norm Smith Medallist on that memorable day. He  was also the King of Melbourne’s Moomba Festival which we joke about and is rarely spoken of!

We discuss Tony’s background and the discipline he had early on playing basketball and football. He was known for his tough game and discipline and determination on and off the ground. Tony’s three important messages to pass on to others include, generate a competitive spirit, be focussed on training and your goals, train hard and the best you can and never compromise.
