Everesting
And today we are speaking about the global phenomenon of Everesting! On the bike that is…
What we are discussing for this episode is Everesting which is cycling the equivalent vertical height of mt Everest. Which is 8848m….in a single ride. Everesting….once again…on the bike that is!
Everesting has become a global phenomenon in the cycling world and has had an increase in 5-6 x the people who have accomplished this challenge since Covid. 26463 riders have completed Everesting and from all around the world. Its not a race, and its not just for pro cyclists. Although there is a record time of 7hrs.52
The rules are simple: ascend 8848m, riders must focus on one hill or mountain per ride. It’s one activity, no sleep, no time limit.
Its cycling's ultimate challenge and I met with well known cyclist from here in Victoria Australia, Erin Ferguson who is undertaking her Everesting challenge on Mt Buffalo in the Victorian Alpine region in the next few days.
We discuss all things Everesting, including preparation and planning, mindset and the ideals of the Everesting challenge.
