It is Thanksgiving Week which is an American-centric holiday that has spread over the world. The emotion of thankfulness is a human emotion which is part of all cultures though not all cultures have a cut-and-dried holiday which focuses on our personal thankfulness. While it is not everyone and at all times, it is a holiday that I, myself, find compelling considering all of the good fortune that I have experienced in my life. I am feeling thankful that this year I have been blessed with good friends and good times while working at the Fresh Chile Company in Las Cruces, New Mexico. That I get to do these historical and cultural podcasts about New Mexico. I am blessed. More so, I am very aware that there are hundreds of Agricultural Researchers over the years that took Chile from Mexico and made it into what we so very much enjoy. They did so year after year as they worked on Chile problems, how to deal with various maladies that happened to Chile crops such as over the last 100 years a significant threat to the Chile Pepper industry was something called P capsica or Chile Wilt.
