About Episode
Pursuing a career in medicine and finding passion in politics were a direct result of what Amelia Keane experienced as a young girl. Many of us dream of becoming something because our parents held that position or we saw someone we admired. But for Amelia her drive for becoming a doctor came from what she saw her father and family experience because of the opioid epidemic in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Amelia’s path to medicine was not typical but neither is her vision and drive to help the community in the ways she wished her father could have received. In this conversation we talk about the path she took to becoming a doctor which included multiple colleges, becoming an army medic and experiencing some of the most challenging years of her life. Join us for an honest conversation about what it takes to fulfill your dreams doing it against the norm.
