As of December 2023, it has been 50 spine chilling years since The Exorcist was released. The much anticipated film was really hyped up and the movie’s release can only be described as mass hysteria cuz people were “compelled” by morbid curiosity and yet still lost their ever luvin minds during and after seeing it! The movie was a sensationalized depiction of demonic possession and was called, “The most terrifying movie of all time”. Many people did not realize that The Exorcist, which opened on December 26, 1973, was inspired by real life events.
